As a key archaeological and cultural landmark, it is a popular tourist destination in South China.

The Zengpiyan site is a prehistoric cave complex situated at the southwestern foot of Dushan Mountain in Guilin. The site includes a main cave, a lower cave, and a water cave, collectively covering an area of approximately 300 square meters. It was first discovered in 1965, and subsequent archaeological excavations in 1973 and 2001 have revealed a wealth of artifacts including stone tools, bone ware, clam ware, horn ware, tooth ware, and pottery shards. These findings are indicative of the site's rich history and the advanced cultural practices of its ancient inhabitants.

Significant findings at the Zengpiyan site include numerous crouching burials with bent limbs, a unique funerary tradition associated with southern China and Southeast Asia. These discoveries underscore the site's role as a crucial center for prehistoric archaeology and as a key location for understanding the development of early human societies in the region.

Covering an area of 9.5 hectares, the Zengpiyan National Archaeological Site Park is designed to provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the site's historical and cultural importance. The park includes the original Zengpiyan cave site and the Guilin Zengpiyan Ruins Museum. It is divided into four main functional areas: an entrance service area, a site protection area, a cultural relics exhibition area, and a simulated archaeological park. These areas are designed to protect the site's integrity while offering educational and interactive experiences for visitors.
